Dear Families,
On behalf of Ms. D’Addario and myself, we hope everyone is safe and well during these unusual and stressful times. It is shocking to think how dramatically our personal and professional lives have changed over the past couple weeks. While additional challenges are expected, remember that we are a strong community and with God’s help, we will persevere throughout the days and weeks ahead.
Many parents have made inquiries about teaching and learning plans for the coming days and weeks. As communicated by our Director of Education, we remain in Phase One as it relates to distance learning. Through next week, families are encouraged to access these online resources made available by the Ministry.
As well the TCDSB has posted online resources to help your children engage in core literacy and numeracy skills found here.
During Phase One, the TCDSB, other boards, the Ministry, and Union partners have been working collaboratively to determine the best possible way(s) to continue teacher-led student learning, as of April 6th. Information regarding this process will made available shortly.
Both parents and educators regularly speak about the importance of being responsible for our actions, as what we do can directly affect others. This message has never been more important. For the good of our local, national, and global community, we all must do our part by demonstrating strict adherence to social distancing measures promoted daily by public health and other government officials. At the same time, we must also be mindful to care for ourselves. If you, or a family you know in our community is experiencing difficulty, please send Ms. D’Addario and/or me an email. We will follow up to see about providing support.
Keeping everyone in my prayers.
Regards,
Stephen Dempsey
